BEAN SOUP TRACTOR PULLING RULES

 

GENERAL RULES

1.  All contestants must be a minimum of 12 years old with a parent or guardian signed release form and must be able to control their machine without any assistance.
2.  All contestants must wear a D.O.T. approved helmet.
3.  Entry fees must be paid in full before competing and may vary depending on payout. (2005 pull during the festival will be $10)
4.  Each tractor may pull only one time in each class.  The first puller has the option of taking that pull or coming back and pulling 5th, if the option of pulling 5th is taken then that distance will be used instead of the first hook.
5.  ALL pulls will start from a tight chain.
6.  Any fighting, foul language, or other actions detrimental to the family type image that we wish to present to the public WILL NOT be tolerated and may result in disqualification and/or you and your crew being asked to leave.  Failure to do so may result in criminal charges being filed with the Pennsylvania State Police.
7.  NO alcoholic beverages will be permitted on the grounds.
8.  Tires must be rubber.  NO dual real wheels, chains, studs, or any other performance enhancing additions to the tread area of the tire.
9.  No weight may extend beyond the most rearward part of the rear tire.
10.  Anything falling off the tractor and interfering with the sled or pan of the sled will result in disqualification.
11.  No part of the tractor or rollover device may interfere with the sled or disqualification will result.
12.  Hitches may not extend beyond the rear of the tire tread.
13.  Driver must maintain control of the machine at all times.  i.e. One hand on the steering wheel and buttocks in the seat.
14.  All tractors must cross over scales on the way back to the pit area.  A five pound allowance will be given for weight.  Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
15.  Judges decisions are final.

STOCK PACE CLASSES 1000 and 1110 POUND

1.  Any Stock type tractor 16 horsepower and under.
2.  Maximum tire size 23x10.50x12 maximum unless factory size is larger. (A factory brochure or dealer invoice must be presented as proof of factory size tire larger than 23x10.50x12)
3.  All engine parts must be STOCK. (If it is a kohler all parts should have a kohler part number. Briggs should have briggs part number. excetera.)
4.  No aftermarket engine parts allowed except exhaust pipe and air filter.
5.  Front tires may not be smaller than 6 inches.
6.  All tractors must remain stock, hoods, frames, axles, excetera to compete in this class.
7.  Hitch height will be 10 inches.
8.  Gasoline only for fuel.  NO alcohol.
9.  No cut tires allowed.
10.  Wheelie bars are highly suggested for this class and will be mandatory in ALL classes in 2005.
11.  Tractor speed shall not exceed the pace device or a disqualification will result.

STOCK ALTERED  NO PACE

1.  16 horsepower and under single cylinder.  Stock appearing engine block.
2.  Engines must be Kohler, Wisconsin, Briggs, Tecumseh, or Honda.
3.  Stock, OEM type heads only.
4.  No slide style carburetors.
5.  One inch spacer tube may be used with a 1 inch carburetor, if a 1.2 inch carburetor is used NO spacer may be used.
6.  Steel flywheels only, no cast iron.
7.  No pressurized fuel tanks.
8.  NO nitrous oxide or alcohol.  PUMP gas only.
9.  Engine must be equipped with a minimum of one head strap to contain the head in case of failure.
10.  Maximum tire size 23x10.50x12.  NO cutting of the rear tires allowed.
11.  Minimum front tire size will be 6 inches.
12.  ALL tractors must have wheelie bars.
13.  All tractors must be equipped with a kill switch equipped with a ring to be hooked to the sled.  (minimum 1 inch ring size)
14.  10 inch hitch height will be used.
15.  Stock wheel base only, no stretching of the frame or altering of the length of the tractor for any reason.
16.  The length of the tractor from the center of the rear axle to the fartherest point forwards including weights shall not exceed 7 feet.
17.  NO weight rearward of the rear most portion of the tire tread.
18.  For 2005 all tractors will have to be equiped with a fire extinguisher mounted within reach of the driver and fully charged.

PRO STOCK  NO PACE

1.  ANY 4 stroke engine or engines, 2 cylinders or less.  Maximum size 20 horsepower total.
2.  Tractors must have hood, fenders and grill from the same make tractor.
3.  ALL engines must be covered on both sides with Plating to contain the engine in case of a failure.
4.  All clutch assemblies must be covered to contain the clutch and deflect it to the ground in case of failure.
5.  All tractors must be equipped with a functional kill switch to be hooked to the sled. (minimum 1 inch ring size)
6.  All tractors must have a functional fire extinguisher to be within reach of the driver.
7.  All engines must have a head strap and be equipped with steel flywheels, NO CAST PIECES.
8.  ALL tractors must have wheelie bars.
9.  Maximum width of any part of tractor not to exceed 60 inches.
10.  Maximum length including wieghts will not exceed 96 inches.
11.  Maximum tire size 26x12x12.
12.  13 inch hitch height.
13.  ALL drivers MUST wear a minimum single layer fire suit.
14.  Weight Classes will be 1000 pounds and 1050 pounds.  Including Driver.
15.  Alcohol may be used as a fuel.  NO additives allowed.
